Although there are certain animals which are considered to be cannibals because of the fact that they occasionally eat their own, owls are not one of them. For the most part owls tend to eat insects as well as rodents and have very keen eyesight, especially at night which is when they typically hunt.
When owls are hunting for their next meal, they knock their prey with their feet and if this fails to disable them they use their powerful talons to break its neck. While there may be the rare exception, owls are not considered cannibalistic because they do not eat their own kind.
